Black History Month 2007 Local Heroes:

Todd Lewis
Principal – Omega Pacific Electrical Supply, Inc.
Richmond, CA

Mark Alexander
Todd Lewis is a community-minded fundraiser and volunteer who has continued the tradition of benevolence started in 1947 by his grandfather, the late Charles R. Reid. Today, Mr. Lewis helps underprivileged youth celebrate the spirit of Christmas in Greater Richmond and its surrounding communities with an annual Christmas party. In 2004, the Charles Reid Foundation was established to carry on Charles Reid's charitable tradition. As a foundation board member, Lewis has led the implementation of other community programs, including after-school tutoring, and is planning a college scholarship fund.

In addition, Lewis is vice president of the family-owned Omega Pacific Electrical Supply, Inc. The Richmond-based wholesale electrical supply distributor is one of the largest African American Owned General Electric Lighting distributors in the United States. Included among the 17-year-old company's distinguished clientele are: the Moscone Center, Gap headquarters in San Francisco, San Francisco International Airport, The DeYoung Museum and, most recently, the new California Academy of Sciences.

Lewis serves as the chief fund raiser for the National Football League Retired Players Association, San Francisco Bay Area Chapter; a volunteer for Toys for Tots in San Francisco; and as a member of the Golden Gate Breakfast Club, for which he served as vice president in 2005-2006.
