Call of the Killer Whale

April 22 at 9pm on KQED 9HD

The most complex marine species on the planet and the sea-going counterpart of humans is the orca, ruler of the ocean. Even though orcas number fewer than 100,000, they are the most widely distributed marine mammals. Jean-Michel Cousteau and his team of explorers travel from the Arctic to the Antarctic to seek out this denizen of the deep. They discover why the challenges to the orcas' survival so closely mirror our own. Combining science and discovery with expert story-telling and astonishing footage, the Ocean Adventures series continues with Call of the Killer Whale, airing on KQED 9HD Wednesday, April 22, at 9pm.
