KQED Reaches Its Goal
On March 1, 2004, KQED reached its $70 million goal for the Campaign for the Future. We thank all of our donors for their generous contributions.

The Campaign launched in 1998, in response to the unfunded federal mandate to convert our television broadcast technology from analog to digital format. With a goal of $70 million, the Campaign for the Future supported three initiatives: Digital Conversion Fund, Program Venture Fund, and Infrastructure Fund.

KQED Public Broadcasting Awarded $2 Million Kresge Foundation Challenge Grant
KQED Public Broadcasting, Northern California's leading public broadcasting and educational institution, was awarded a $2 million challenge grant from The Kresge Foundation in support of the KQED Campaign for the Future. This grant was a challenge to the community to support the Campaign and help KQED reach our $70 million goal. KQED needed to raise $68 million by March 1, 2004 in order to receive the final $2 million grant from Kresge.

Our members enthusiastically responded to the challenge -- over 11,000 members of the community made gifts to the Campaign. We are extremely grateful to each donor who helped us reach our $70 million goal on March 1, 2004. Thank you.
