As they prepare for Thanksgiving, this year, Californians might wonder if there's anything to be thankful for - with the economy going down and unemployment and food prices going up. Still, it was busy today at the 30 year-old Encinal Market in Alameda. Thanksgiving Day this year falls on the 30th anniversary of one of San Francisco's darkest moments. On November 27, 1978, former Supervisor Dan White shot and killed Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk in their City Hall offices. Senator Dianne Feinstein was a witness to those events, but has not spoken publicly about them. But in San Francisco today, she described that day and the troubled years that followed.
