John Myers
John Myers
Sacramento Bureau Chief

John Myers joined KQED in 2003, and has spent the past 12 years as a reporter, anchor and editor in both television and radio news. His previous work experience includes anchor and managing editor at KFBK News Radio in Sacramento, and anchor/political reporter for NBC affiliate KSBY-TV in San Luis Obispo. John has also worked as a reporter and producer at television stations in Oakland, Sacramento and Norfolk, Virginia.

John's reporting work has been heard on National Public Radio and seen on MSNBC. In 2005, he received two awards for his political and policy reporting: the California Journalism Award for radio reporting, and Best Radio Writing from the Northern California Radio and Television News Directors Association. His career highlights also include serving on the panel of journalists in the first statewide televised debate of the 2003 California recall election.

John is a native of North Carolina. He received an undergraduate degree in political science from Duke University, and a masters in journalism from the University of California, Berkeley.
