Keven Guillory sums it up by stating, "Working in radio allows me to live a life I never could otherwise! How else could I visit Air Force One in the morning, then just hours later, sit with an elderly pensioner in a single room occupancy hotel and talk about her first date in the 1930s?"

Keven's professional life began in 1974 in Berkeley and has included stints in radio stations all over the Bay Area. When he was hired by KQED 88.5 FM in 1985, he knew he had found his niche in public broadcasting. "The public radio audience is so bright and educated," Keven says. "They keep me on my toes as they invite me into their lives. People can be incredibly complex and curious and I see it as my job to understand that complexity and help solve that curiosity."

Keven's passions are his five children, growing fabulous roses, and night fishing on Lake Shasta. His description of wing beats in the darkness and bears lumbering to the shore under the moonlight are true word portraits, something he's also passionate about.
