Host, Reporter -- KQED Radio News, The California Report
Kathryn Baron coveted a job at KQED Public Radio ever since she first listened to the station as a graduate student in journalism at Stanford University. She finally got her wish in 1997 after several years in television, commercial radio and print reporting.
When she's not hosting the morning newscasts, Kathryn covers education -- from preschool to college.
Her work has been recognized by the Associated Press Television and Radio Association with several Mark Twain awards for news writing, as well as by the Society of Professional Journalists, United Press International, Radio Television News Directors Association, Peninsula Press Club and the National Women's Political Caucus. She is a five-time winner of the Education Writers Association award for radio reporting, and is recipient of an Armstrong Award for radio documentary.
