Really intersting blog about the pooter, but from reading the title, I thought that I would gain a little more information on how to build a pooter so that I could also enjoy the excitement of ant (small insects) colleting. Oh, I enjoyed the comment about the trap-jaw ant.

I love pooters! I'm excited to use some for bug collecting with my students this term.

RAFT in San Jose publishes these simple directions for making cheap pooters: http://raft.net/ideas/Bug%20Pooter.pdf

I can't wait to try it!

I fondly remember that chilly morning too, as science teachers clustered together near the ant hills usually ignored by passersby. Quest put together a fantastic hands-on, multimedia ensemble!

I've never used a pooter, but it looks like fun! Along with the QUEST resources, I'm sure it would be a big hit with students and would really engage them in science.
