Hello Blogmyway
The universe as just one level of a Russian doll of universes is an idea that has been passed around for some time now. Some people have claimed that black holes could also be mini universes, or that our universe is a black hole in some parent universe.

Of course I like to speculate about these possibilities as well. As an undergraduate, I was convinced that the universe was cyclical, expanding and contracting and repeating the Big Bang every X billion years. That was one case where the true nature of the universe could be observed, and proved me wrong wrong wrong.

As for ideas of what lies beyond the universe, I don't see that anyone will be proven wrong with their theory. If that means it's a game with no real fact, than that's life. To me, it's a matter of how to define the word "fact". I prefer to say that it's a game with no end...

Let me take a guess. This is only a game with no real fact. What if a universe that we see is round like the earth, and there is a mother-universe that held the universe we see through all these time; much like the universe that we know contained the earth, other planets, stars, galaxies, and other exotic space stuffs.

We can also look at the universes like the folders and files on our computer hard drive. Infinite sub folder can reside within the parent folders as long the hard drive space is big enough to hold the infinite amount of folders and files.

Guessing game is over... what do ya think?

Kyle, Excellent post! It's fascinating to ponder how little we know about the extents (and many details) of the universe. And to sort of sum it up as un-knowable (with present technology), yikes!

Look forward to hearing more about that Beluga whale one day... that's a wildlife encounter to be jealous of...
Hope you get to enjoy the lunar eclipse tonight!
