The Josh Kornbluth Show: Press Release

KQED Public Television Launches "The Josh Kornbluth Show"

San Francisco, CA -- Josh Kornbluth--monologist, writer, actor, movie star, "fashion icon"--can now add television star to his bio; he's the host of the new KQED Public Television interview program, THE JOSH KORNBLUTH SHOW. Promising lively, intelligent, offbeat, intriguing, even hilarious conversations with a variety of guests and strangers, the half-hour program kicks off a new era of local production at KQED and represents the station's commitment to offering unique local content that illuminates life in the Bay Area.

THE JOSH KORNBLUTH SHOW will air Mondays at 7:30pm on KQED 9, premiering September 12. KQED will follow the broadcast premiere with another brand-new episode the following night, Tuesday September 13, also at 7:30pm. With 23 episodes in its first season, the program can also be seen on KQED digital channels and will be available at KQED On Demand. KQED.org will also host a blog by Josh, launching in early September.

Approachable, quick-witted, slightly uncomfortable yet utterly delightful, Josh is a frenetic and consummate entertainer and a skilled chronicler of the human experience. THE JOSH KORNBLUTH SHOW brings this Bay Area icon together with the known and unknown personalities--the celebrities and innovators, the musicians, filmmakers and artists, the social critics and authors, the athletes and explorers--that add flavor and spice to life in the Bay Area.

"THE JOSH KORNBLUTH SHOW is fresh and unexpected, and will appeal to a broad range of viewers," said Michael Isip, executive producer of the series and executive director of television production and programming for KQED. "It both reflects and serves the vibrant and diverse Bay Area, as only locally created and produced programming can."

Curious and engaging, Josh will delve beneath the surface to reveal his guests’ driving passions and explore their everyday lives. Each episode will feature Josh in conversation with one or two guests in his "kitchen"; a "Wandering Josh" segment, in which Josh will venture out of the studio into different parts of the Bay Area, sometimes getting caught in unpredictable situations; and Josh’s signature monologues will open and close every program.
