Intense Drama: Murderous Love

The Beneficiary
Writer and director Graeme Burfoot is an award-winning commercial director in Australia. He also served as a second-unit director on "The Red Planet," starring Val Kilmer. In this film, a scheming young woman meets her match in a meticulous accountant. While reviewing her recently deceased mother's estate, the number cruncher begins to suspect foul play and soon devises an ingenious plan to get in on the windfall.

Freestyle
David Lowe wrote and directed this film about a brutal murder happening at a pool. The incredulous detective can't understand why the only possible witness to the murder refuses to speak. Will she break under intense interrogation?

A Hollow Place
San Francisco State Alumnus Joseph Anaya directed this story about a young boy who is cast away by his mother. He grows up under the iron fist of his bedridden abusive grandfather. When the old man mysteriously disappears, his grandson finds it increasingly hard to hide the truth from the police. This is a modern re-telling of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Tell Tale Heart" reset in an African-American neighborhood.

Kitchen Sink
Screenwriter and director Alison Maclean was born in Canada, emigrated to New Zealand and now works in Australia. From the bowels of a kitchen sink comes a dark and tender love story that appears as an outrageous and disturbing combination of "Frankenstein" and "Pygmalion." Who ever said a good man was hard to find obviously wasn't looking in the right place.
