California State System Names New Chancellor

The California State University system has a new Chancellor.

The CSU board has named UC Riverside Chancellor Tim White to lead Cal State's 23 campuses.

David Allison is President of the California State Student Association. He's enthusiastic about White's appointment. "The student body of the CSU is very excited to have a Chancellor that will definitely be able to identify with them and all of our challenges."

White is expected to start his new job in December. He is replacing outgoing CSU Chancellor Charles Reed, who is retiring after 14 years.
