The State Supreme Court is taking up legal challenges to Proposition 8 -- the gay marriage ban passed by California voters earlier this month. The court's decision is being cheered by all sides.

The California Supreme Court may decide today whether to once again wade into the legal battle over same-sex marriage. Lawsuits are piling up against Proposition 8, the voter initiative that banned same-sex marriage. In their weekly conference today, justices could decide whether to accept those lawsuits for review -- or let Prop. 8 stand.
