The film follows blogger Julie Powell who decides to cook her way through Julia Child's classic cookbook, "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" in one year's time. The movie simultanously weaves in the story of Julia & Paul Child as told through Julia Child's memoir, "My Life In France."

Ms. Child discusses her first television show The French Chef created in 1962 for Boston's PBS station WGBH which was on the air until 1973. In 1978, Ms. Child returned to public television with Julia and Company. She talked about being a regular on Good Morning America throughout the 1980's. In b-roll, Ms. Child also presents some of her favorite cooking utensils and appliances. Conducted June 25, 1999 by Michael Rosen.
