Kids! Get Ready to Write and Draw!

KQED Education Network will be gearing up for the 15th annual Reading Rainbow Young Writers & Illustrators Contest in late 2008. Children from kindergarten through the third grade are encouraged to write and illustrate their own stories, and send them to us! The deadline for entries will be announced in December so be sure to check back then for details!

KQED has hosted the contest since its launch in 1994. In 2007, we received over 900 entries from all over the Bay Area, and we're excited about seeing even more imaginative and creative work this year!

Download the Contest rules and entry form. For more information email ReadingRainbow@kqed.org or call (415) 553-2453.

Every child who enters the contest receives a special Certificate of Achievement signed by Reading Rainbow host LeVar Burton. First, Second, Third Place, and Honorable Mention winners are selected from each grade level and will celebrated at a special awards ceremony at the KQED studios.
