Oakland Art Murmur II - November 2006

Since the beginning of 2006, a group of art galleries in Oakland have been hosting concurrent first Friday art receptions -- calling it Oakland Art Murmur. We visited just a few of these hot art spots in February and decided that we had to go back for more of their DIY attitude, so in November 2006, Gallery Crawl visited Blankspace and Front Gallery.

Front Gallery

From October 6 through December 2, 2006 Front Gallery exhibits the work of David Meeker, whose kinetic "air fountains" are made from recycled materials and loosely modeled after botanical forms.

Blankspace

From October 21 through November 19, 2006, Blankspace presents a solo show of work by Misako Inaoka called Secret Nature. Inaoka's site-specific installations force viewers to focus on the small details in their surroundings.
