Position Summary
The Project Supervisor, Cat In the Hat Knows A Lot About That (CITH), is responsible for various levels of promotion to PBS stations, facilitation between producers, web, education and promotion teams for the CITH Project.
Position Accountabilities
1. Markets CITH by developing materials for public television stations and for national public television events; by establishing and cultivating relationships with public television programmers (300+) and station communication professionals at national meetings and through phone and on-line contacts; by writing and disseminating promotional program information letters; and by attending certain public television meetings.
2. Helps create, oversee and maintain project timelines and activities.
3. Assists producers with technical questions/deliverables and ORION entries.
4. Facilitates multiple activities related to adhering to public television requirements for program deliverables among producers, KQED Presents, and other KQED departments -- including consulting with KQED Legal Department regarding program regulations and flagging potential issues.
5. Plans and implements public media events, including but not limited to sponsored meal at PBS Showcase and PTPA meeting.
6. Coordinates Station Relations with Education and Community Outreach activities/events.
7. Updates carriage and communications database from phone, printed and on-line sources and disseminates carriage information for designated titles.
8. Prepares monthly project expense report for review by Director. Provides financial coding for project invoices.
9. Prepares monthly project report for review by Director, and presentation to KQED CITH team at team meetings.
10. Assists Director with administrative and other duties as required including day-to-day correspondence, files and DVD/tape dubbing.
11. Performs other essential duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
1. Self-motivation, long-term organization skills and follow-through on multiple
projects with shifting priorities and the ability to take initiative, work under
pressure, meet deadlines, and switch activities as needed is essential.
2. Demonstrated attention-to-detail; excellent verbal and writing skills, knowledge
of bookkeeping and clerical procedures, and writing and editing of letters and
documents required.
3. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Event Management experience required.
5. Experience with television productions, ability to work with independent
producers, knowledge of public television.
6. Marketing, sales, and administrative experience.
5. Ability to communicate and respond to staff and business associates diplomatically
and effectively;
6. Experience in balancing and re-prioritizing requirements and needs under pressure is required;
7. Experience in MS Word and Excel, FileMaker Pro, and the Internet.
8. Ability to constantly sit for six to eight hours; ability to occasionally
walk, stand, bend, squat, kneel, as well as push and pull; ability to constantly
lift and carry up to 10 lbs; as well as ability to occasionally lift and carry
11-50 lbs.
