Position Summary
The Project Supervisor, Early Learning, provides
NCPB Early Learning outreach and education services
for child care professionals, parents and families
throughout the NCPB viewing area with a special
emphasis in San Jose. This position will work independently
from the remote offices of the KTEH television studios.
The Project Supervisor develops, coordinates, promotes,
presents and evaluates educational workshops for
these audiences to demonstrate the use of public
television programming and accompanying content
as an educational learning tool. The Project Supervisor
establishes, supports and maintains partnerships
with a variety of community-based educational organizations
to better reach and impact the target audiences.
The position also oversees project budget(s) and
grant(s).
Position Accountabilities
1. Plans, promotes, presents, and evaluates the
effectiveness of KQED Early Learning workshops for
multilingual child care professionals, parents and
families.
2. Creates, evaluates and improves educational materials
for KQED Early Learning workshops.
3. Recruits and manages multilingual independent
contract trainers-coordinating their trainings,
contract execution, scheduling, materials development
and dissemination, and assessments to ensure breadth
and depth of EL impact.
4. Builds, maintains and supports relationships
with key organizations throughout the NCPB/San Jose
service area in order to create partnerships with
parents, child care providers, and educators, as
well as to promote NCPB Early Learning services.
5. Spearheads outreach efforts to raise awareness
and promote KQED Early Learning services.
6. Oversees all project-related budgets and associated
contractual requirements to ensure grants monies
are spent and activities are aligned according to
expectations.
7. Works independently and conscientiously, within
a remote office environment.
8. Actively participates in NCPB Early Learning
team activities and various projects as needed.
9. Represents KQED at local, statewide and national
meetings, and makes presentations at events to promote
KQED Early Learning.
10. Performs other essential duties as required.

Position Requirements
1. Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Education,
or Sociology preferred, or work experience equivalent.
2. Two to three years experience in project supervision
required.
3. Proven ability to develop original, high-quality
educational content.
4. Early childhood education background essential.
5. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
and follow-through capabilities.
6. Excellent oral, written communication and presentation
skills.
7. Database and word-processing skills preferred.
8. Bilingual (English/Spanish) oral and written
skills required.
9. Experience with Bay Area community organizations
serving multicultural and multilingual families
and children highly desired.
10. Ability to work effectively with community and
internal staff a must.
11. Ability to take leadership, work independently
and remotely, and contribute to a dynamic group.
12. Willingness and ability to contribute effectively
to the efforts of high-energy, high performance
professionals committed to utilizing the resources
of KQED on behalf of children, youth and the community.
13. Public television background desired and appreciation
of public television required.
14. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb,
kneel, as well as push and pull occasionally for
three hours; ability to lift 50 lbs onto cart occasionally
for three hours; and ability to carry 10 lbs occasionally
up to three hours.
