Download audio (MP3)

President-elect Barack Obama has chosen Rick Warren, the vocal pastor of the Saddleback mega-church in Orange County, to deliver his inaugural invocation. It's a choice that has outraged gay rights groups. We talk about the selection and the broader role religion may play in the Obama administration.

Host: Dave Iverson

Guests:

  • E.J. Dionne Jr., columnist for The Washington Post, senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and author of "Souled Out: Reclaiming Faith and Politics after the Religious Right"
