High Speed Rail / Parental Notification Propositions

Download audio (MP3)

In the first half hour, we look at a proposition on the November ballot asking voters to approve nearly $10 billion for a high-speed rail system from San Francisco to L.A. In the second half, we take up Proposition 4, which would amend the state constitution to require that parents be notified before a minor can receive an abortion.

Host: Michael Krasny

Guests:

  • Adrian Moore, vice president of the Reason Foundation (first half hour)
  • Dolores Meehan, yes on 4 campaign (second half hour)
  • Margaret Crosby, ACLU staff attorney and reproductive rights expert (second half hour)
  • Rod Diridon, board member of the California High-Speed Rail Authority, executive director of the Mineta Transportation Institute and former member of the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors (first half hour)
