American-style consumer capitalism is simply unsustainable, warns former White House adviser James Gustave Speth in his new book, "The Bridge at the Edge of the World." A co-founder of the Natural Resources Defense Council, Speth has been an environmentalist for more than three decades. Speth is dean and professor in the practice of environmental policy at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
