The Bureau of Labor Statistics releases its monthly jobs report the first Friday of every month. This month's report -- like so many others since the economy took a dive -- will be reviewed and analyzed by researchers, economists, policy experts and Wall Street. What do the new numbers mean for the unemployed and for the future of the economy?

Host: Dave Iverson

Guests:

  • Christopher Thornberg, founding partner of Beacon Economics, an independent economic research and consulting firm
  • Laura D'Andrea Tyson, professor of global management at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, former chair of President Bill Clinton's Council of Economic Advisers, former member of President Obama's Economic Recovery Advisory Board and current member of the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness
  • Peter Coy, economics editor for Bloomberg Businessweek
