A randomly selected BART seat tested positive for antibiotic-resistant bacteria as well as fecal bacteria in a test by a SFSU lab. The Bay Citizen reports the presence of at least nine strains of bacteria. We discuss the danger of such germs with BART's president, the lab technician who did the test, and a public health expert who puts it all into perspective.

Host: Michael Krasny

Guests:

  • Bob Franklin, president of BART
  • Darleen Franklin, supervisor of the biology lab facility at SFSU
  • John Swartzberg, clinical professor of medicine at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health
  • Zusha Elinson, reporter for the Bay Citizen
