Budget Update
In a meeting with scores of lawmakers and policy experts this week, Governor-elect Jerry Brown described the worsening state budget crisis, past failed attempts to fix the budget and the unsustainability of a $25 billion budget deficit. Meanwhile, legislators put off action on outgoing Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's proposed budget.
