Interfaith Dialogue
Stories with religious overtones have dominated the news in recent weeks: the proposed mosque near Ground Zero, same-sex marriage, and public confusion over President Obama's faith, to name a few. We talk with a panel of local religious leaders about the role of religion in modern American society -- and about their work building dialogue between faiths.
Host: Michael Krasny
Guests:
- Bishop William Swing, founder and president of the United Religions Initiative
- Heng Sure, reverend at the Berkeley Buddhist Monastery
- Munir Jiwa, director and assistant professor in the Center for Islamic Studies at the Graduate Theological Union
- Rita Semel, executive vice chair of the San Francisco Interfaith Council
