Download audio (MP3)

Tuition has been on the rise in California universities, and with the bad economy many students aren't sure if they can afford college. We discuss the newly formed ScholarMatch, a project launched by Bay Area writer Dave Eggers. ScholarMatch is an online service that helps pair college applicants with individual donors who want to help send them to school.

Host: Michael Krasny

Guests:

  • Dave Eggers, author, founder and editor of McSweeney's and co-founder of 826 Valencia, a network of nonprofit writing and tutoring centers for young people
  • Miel Alegre, executive director of ScholarMatch
