The jury in the trial of Johannes Mehserle, the former Oakland BART officer accused of murdering African American passenger Oscar Grant, will likely begin deliberations today. We discuss the high profile trial and talk with police and community members about what a guilty verdict or an acquittal may mean for the city.

Host: Dave Iverson

Guests:

  • Anthony Batts, Oakland Chief of Police
  • Peter Keane, dean emeritus and professor of law at Golden Gate University Law School
  • Scott Peterson, public policy director for the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce
  • Tony Coleman, community organizer with Onefam.org, part of the coalition group: New Years Movement for Justice for Oscar Grant.
