Death In Holy Orders [#101Z] (An Adam Dalgleish Mystery) Part 1 of 2 A masterly exploration of an isolated and beleaguered community coping with the evil and disruption of murder, based on PD James's bestselling novel. The story is set in St Anselm's, an Anglican theological college on a desolate stretch of the British coastline. When the body of one of the students is found on the shore smothered by a fall of sand, his wealthy father demands that Scotland Yard should re-examine the verdict of accidental death. Commander Dalgliesh spent time at St Anselm's as a boy and so agrees to pay a visit. Instead of a nostalgic return to old haunts and straightforward examination of the evidence given at the inquest, he finds himself embroiled in one of the most horrific and puzzling cases of his career. Other visitors come to the college on the weekend of his arrival, not all with benign intent. One of them will not leave alive. duration 1:28:55   STEREO TVPG

Sgt. Pepper's Musical Revolution This program offers a look back at the creation, and ongoing influence, of the revolutionary 1967 Beatles album, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band." When The Beatles stopped playing live in 1966, they suddenly had the time to pour all of their energy into writing and recording, creating an album that was a performance unto itself. Released in 1967, after what had been essentially a media blackout on what the band had been up to, the album was immediately a sensation and was recognized as a new chapter, not just in rock music, but in the history of all music.
Hosted by British television presenter Howard Goodall, this film uses visually striking elements to conjure up the psychedelic world of Sgt. Pepper, provide context for the culture of the day, and show how the album was driving force within that culture. It also highlights how contemporary projects, like Beyonce's "Lemonade", would be unthinkable today had The Beatles not completely upended the whole concept of what an album should be. And for the Beatles fan in all of us, the show offers up material that has been squirreled away for decades, known only to a handful of people at Abbey Road Studios, including recordings of studio chat, and isolated instrument tracks and vocals.
