00 amFrontline [#2816H] The Vaccine War Public health scientists and clinicians tout vaccines as one of the greatest achievements of modern medicine. But for many ordinary Americans vaccines have become controversial. Young parents are concerned at the sheer number of shots -- some 26 inoculations for 14 different diseases by age six -- and follow alternative vaccination schedules advocated by gurus like Dr. Robert Sears. Other parents go further. In communities like Ashland, Oregon, up to one-third of parents are choosing not to vaccinate their kids at all. And some advocacy groups, like Generation Rescue, argue that vaccines are no longer a public health miracle but a scourge; they view vaccines as responsible for alarming rises in certain disorders, including ADHD and autism. This is the vaccine war: On one side sits scientific medicine and the public health establishment; on the other a populist coalition of parents, celebrities (like Jenny McCarthy), politicians and activists. It's a war that increasingly takes place on the Internet with both sides using the latest social media tools, including Facebook and Twitter, to win the hearts and minds of the public. duration 56:46 STEREO TVPG (Secondary audio: DVI)

00 amZoboomafoo [#120] Animal Daycare Martin and Chris are exhausted after an around-the-world hike, but there's no time to sleep because Animal Junction's full of babies: lynx and bobcat kittens, a baby ring tail lemur. Needless to say, Zoboo, Martin and Chris have their hands full. Babies can be pretty helpless and need lots of care. Babies are also pretty vocal when they are in need of something, especially these creature babies. Jackie and the Animal Helpers are returning from blueberry picking when they discover a baby bird that's fallen out of his nest. The nest is too high for them to reach, so they put the bird into a blueberry basket and set the basket into the crotch of the tree. That way the bird's mom will find his new nest and feed him. duration 28:46 STEREO TVY (Secondary audio: DVI)

00 amSesame Street [#4305H] Me Am What Me Am A very hungry Cookie Monster is waiting for Chris to finish baking cookies, but it's hard for him to wait! Chris offers Cookie Monster carrots to eat in the meantime, and he gobbles them all up. All of a sudden Mario Lopez, a reporter for EXTRA Sesame Street, appears and announces on his show that Cookie Monster is now the Veggie Monster! Cookie Monster, panicked, explains that even though he does love to eat healthy carrots, he is not the Veggie Monster. But everyone insists on calling him the Veggie Monster anyway. This makes Cookie Monster really unhappy. He decides to eat a cookie so that nobody will call him Veggie Monster anymore. He asks Big Bird and Snuffy if they have any cookies to eat, but all they have is birdseed, spaghetti, and cabbage. Cookie Monster tastes the cabbage for the first time and thinks it's delicious! Just then, Mario appears and reports that Cookie Monster is eating another vegetable. Cookie Monster tries to explain to Mario that just because he loves cabbage doesn't mean he is the Veggie Monster. Cookie Monster realizes that the only way he can eat vegetables is if he disguises himself. Cookie Monster eats celery in disguise, but Mario recognizes him and records it for all to see on Me Tube. Cookie Monster is upset and tells Mario how he is feeling frustrated because no one believes him. Cookie Monster sings a song about how no matter how much he loves vegetables, he'll always be who he is - Cookie Monster. Cookie Monster eats the cookies Chris baked for him and Mario reports that Cookie Monster really is the Cookie Monster! duration 58:46 STEREO TVY (Secondary audio: DVI)

00 amWordWorld [#109H] Duck's First Sleepover/One Hat Fits All * Duck's First Sleepover: Duck attends his first sleep-over party but he's nervous about not sleeping in his nest for the first time. After a long night of fun games his friends calm his anxiety by building him a soft, fluffy nest.
* One Hat Fits All: Sheep, while practicing her magic act, loses her magicians top hat (it's quite blustery in Word World today). The hat wends all around Word World, visiting Pig, Bear and Duck, breaking into its letters each time it crashes to a halt! And whenever our heroes put it back together, the hat takes on a fresh, new form. For Pig it becomes a chef's hat; for Bear, an artist's beret; and for Duck, a silly propeller beanie! Clearly, this hat is special! Could it even be... magical?
