Live from the Artists Den [#1004H] Gary Clark Jr. Austin native and blues phenomenon Gary Clarke Jr. has been touring the US since 2010, but he first picked up a guitar at age 12. By the time he was 15, he was a regular playing stages on Austin's famous 6th street after being discovered by local promoter Clifford Antone. Clarke released independent albums from 2005-2010, until he caught the attention of Eric Clapton, and was signed to Warner Music Group. His latest album, The Story of Sonny Boy Slim, a tribute to his southern roots, was released in September 2015. Clarke takes the stage in a February 2016 taping for Live from the Artists Den's 10th season. duration 56:46   STEREO TVG

Sgt. Pepper's Musical Revolution This program offers a look back at the creation, and ongoing influence, of the revolutionary 1967 Beatles album, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band." When The Beatles stopped playing live in 1966, they suddenly had the time to pour all of their energy into writing and recording, creating an album that was a performance unto itself. Released in 1967, after what had been essentially a media blackout on what the band had been up to, the album was immediately a sensation and was recognized as a new chapter, not just in rock music, but in the history of all music.
Hosted by British television presenter Howard Goodall, this film uses visually striking elements to conjure up the psychedelic world of Sgt. Pepper, provide context for the culture of the day, and show how the album was driving force within that culture. It also highlights how contemporary projects, like Beyonce's "Lemonade", would be unthinkable today had The Beatles not completely upended the whole concept of what an album should be. And for the Beatles fan in all of us, the show offers up material that has been squirreled away for decades, known only to a handful of people at Abbey Road Studios, including recordings of studio chat, and isolated instrument tracks and vocals.

Feel Better with Pressure Point Therapy Dr. Michael Pinkus (D.C.) empowers viewers to take pain relief into their own hands. Over the years, Dr. Pinkus has found a way to make Eastern medicine practices easy to understand and accessible to the layperson. Comparing Asian acupuncture charts to Western nerve charts of the body, he cross-referenced which nerve pathways were involved with the ancient acupressure points.
Where did the nerve travel to? What area of the body did it control or influence? Which organs were influenced by these points and how did this correspond to the nerve pathways in the body? From these observations and many years of hands-on application as a successful Doctor of Chiropractic, he derived this technique which he coined "Pressure Point Therapy." This program shows viewers how they can apply these techniques in their daily lives.

Suze Orman's Financial Solutions for You We all have financial issues and problems. Suze Orman's latest special sharply focuses on her helping individual viewers "find financial solutions for you." As always, Suze's advice is based not just on numbers, but on a critical understanding of ourselves and our emotional needs. The special's central theme is that our financial decision-making should be guided by an understanding of "the goal of money." As Suze perceptively defines it: "The goal of money is to make you feel secure." Our financial solutions should work to fulfill that goal. In addition, Suze stresses the importance of making financial decisions that you feel comfortable with. Financial problems are caused when you do things with money that do not seem "right" to you, despite pressures and advice from others. duration 1:57:06   STEREO TVG
