    Dinosaur Train [#225] Dinosaur Train Submarine: Maisie Mosasaurus/Date Night The Pteranodon family goes back underwater in the Dinosaur Train Submarine and meet Maisie and Marvin Mosasaurus, a daughter and father who are huge, fast-swimming lizards with flippers. Maisie and Shiny bond when they discover neither likes to go down deep in the water. The Pteranodons and Mosasaurus have a great time up near the ocean's surface, each family showing the other how they hunt and catch fish to eat. When Mrs. Pteranodon announces that she and Mr. Pteranodon are going on a special anniversary date that night, and the Pteranodon kids will have their first babysitter ever, the kids are not very happy. The babysitter is Keira Chirostenotes, a responsible, patient teenager. Buddy, Tiny, Shiny, and Don each take almost the whole evening to warm up to her. While Mom and Dad are on their date on the Dinosaur Night Train, Mom is relaxed, but Dad really misses the kids and can't stop thinking about them. He even joins Mr. McFeely on his "speedy delivery" to give Dad the very special letter! I Love You, Mom - Daniel wants to surprise Mom Tiger with her favorite banana bread because he knows it is one way to say "I love you." Dad and Daniel head to Baker Aker's Bakery, where they learn about the bread-making process. They all head to the Enchanted Garden, where Mom Tiger shows Daniel the strawberry patch. Daniel is very curious, and learns that if he looks closely, he may be able to answer his own questions about how strawberries grow and learn something new
    * A Trip to the Crayon Factory - Daniel Tiger, Miss Elaina, and Katerina Kittycat take a fun trip to the factory to see how crayons are made but, O the Owl can't come because he's sick. At the factory, the kids watch the crayons being made, and Daniel looks and listens closely. Daniel has an idea to take pictures at the factory and give them to O at the end of the day, so that O can learn about crayons too!

    Splash and Bubbles [#120H] Chompy's New Foods/Cloning Around Chompy the Parrotfish decides she doesn't want to eat only algae anymore when she sees Splash and his friends eating a variety of things found in the water column (plankton, etc.) The others have to get Chompy back on her normal eating plan before the reef gets overrun with algae! / Bubbles and Ripple meet a jellyfish. However, when they bring Splash and Dunk to meet her, they discover she doesn't remember them at all.     Nature Cat [#128H] Runaway Pumpkin/Lady Bug Tough * Runaway Pumpkin - Daisy has grown the biggest, most beautiful pumpkin and wants to get it to the Halloween Party. But getting this huge pumpkin there is easier said than done. Travel trouble isn't the only problem; their biggest challenge ends up being what to do with the pumpkins after Halloween.
    * Lady Bug Tough - Uh oh, there is big trouble in Daisy's rose garden! The rose bushes should bloom into gorgeous, colorful roses but they're not, and it's all because of these tiny little aphids that are eating the leaves and damaging the roses! Noooooo! How do they stop them? Daisy calls in the expert - Granny Bunny - who says they need to find some tiny beetles called ladybugs. That should do the trick!

[#104H] Just The Right Distance from the Sun/Solar Power Rover "Just the Right Distance From the Sun" - Sean explains to the others that Earth is a "Goldilocks" planet because it's not too hot and not too cold. When Celery takes the kids to space, they observe how the other planets don't have the right attributes to support life, but Earth is "just right"! Curriculum: All life on Earth comes from the energy of the Sun. The Earth happens to be located just the right distance from the Sun: not too far away, and not too close. This makes the Earth what we call a "Goldilocks planet": not too hot, not too cold.
    "Solar Power Rover" - Jet, Sean, and Sydney visit their Mars Robot Rover friend at the DSA, and discover that the rover seems tired. Through helping the solar powered robot regain its energy, they learn how energy can be captured, used from the Sun, and used anywhere - even on Mars. Curriculum: The Sun creates solar power that is used for energy. Solar power is the conversion of sunlight into electricity, either directly or indirectly.

It's the one place Thomas was not scaring crows from! Thomas is very sorry. He sticks to the job and dutifully stays at his post all night long, successfully scaring crows! Muddy Matters - When James is asked to take Farmer McColl's sheep to the Sodor Farmer's fair, James is much more concerned with preserving his own cleanliness than following instructions. Due to James' vanity, the sheep escape. James realizes that if he is to get the sheep to the Fair, he must sacrifice the one thing that is most important to him. He must get dirty! James arrives at the Fair with the sheep, job done and very muddy!     Thomas & Friends [#905] Don't Give Up Percy and the Calliope - Percy and Diesel are instructed to take a rusty old organ - the calliope - to be melted down. Percy is determined to save it from this terrible fate. He pitches himself into a race against time to make the organ play before Percy and Diesel reach the Smelter's Yard. Needless to say, Diesel is very unhelpful. After a number of failed and funny attempts, Percy discovers that the solution to making the calliope work is to use steam - the answer was in his funnel all along! Happy Birthday Sir! - It is Sir Topham Hatt's Birthday. He tells Thomas to take Winston, his new track vehicle, with him on his jobs. Sir Topham Hatt wants Winston to see what it's like to be a Really Useful engine. Salty and Edward tell Thomas and Winston of when a younger Fat Controller would travel from station to station on his birthday in his favorite open top carriage, sharing birthday cake with the passengers on the platform. Thomas and Winston set off on his rounds. Winston trails off and Thomas is cross. Thomas makes Winston travel in front of him. Winston does so, but rolls along very slowly - looking to left and right. Thomas bumps into the back of Winston and derails him! But Winston is excited! Realizing it's hard work helping others to cross the road safely, he has a new appreciation for Mommy and Daddy's rules. Educational Objective: The importance of following safety rules. Glitter Glitch: Caillou forgets to wash his glittery hands after Miss Martin asks him to, and he leaves a trail of glitter around the preschool. The shiny specks become a mystery until Miss Martin discovers the children playing 'glitter tag'...and Caillou is "it"! When Miss Martin asks the children to pretend the glitter is cold germs, Caillou realizes the importance of hand washing. Educational Objective: The importance of hand washing; following directions. The Untidy Classroom: When Caillou complains about having to tidy up, Miss Martin suggests an experiment - they won't tidy up the classroom for a few days, and they'll see what happens. At first, the kids think this is fantastic...until they can't find their puzzle pieces, they keep stepping on toys, and they can't even do their morning exercises. Caillou finally realizes it's time to tidy up, and decides to lead the clean-up crew! When they tell Susie what they learned, Susie explains something very important-not everything you find on the computer is true! And someone that really understands that notion is visiting today, it's Gabriela's Mom! Dr. Rosalinda Cordova is a marine biologist so she does lots of research on the computer, but it's not the only thing she uses. She tells the kids that when she does research, she reads books at the library, makes observations, asks experts, and looks at websites with good information.     Bob the Builder [#918] New Attractions Scoop and Slide: Spring City enlisted the help of Bob and the team to build the new water park, Spring City Splash. Complete with a wave pool and splash zone, there's one thing left to build: the double dragon water slide. Thrilled to see the dragon slides, Scoop is unimpressed when he is assigned to build the support beams. After completing his tasks, Scoop is finally able to see the dragon slides. His shoddy work, however, causes the slides to crash to the ground. The team works through the night to fix the slides and finishes in time to celebrate JJ's birthday. Learning Goals: To explore how to measure and nonstandard measurement. To understand the value of patience. Spring City Wheel: Bob and the team are building The Spring City Wheel, a huge Ferris wheel in the Docklands' Regeneration Area. The project gets delayed, however, when Leo and Muck stay up all night playing new computer game, "Space Robots!" Bob, Wendy, Lofty, and Two-Tonne wait for Leo and Muck to bring the materials to attach the observation pods to the wheel but, unbeknownst to them, Leo and Muck had fallen asleep. They finally arrive, but not before The Spring City Rockets show up, waiting for their ride on the wheel. While the rest of the team assembles the Ferris wheel, Leo distracts The Spring City Rockets by showing them how to reach the top level of "Space Robots!" Learning Goals: To explore circular motion of a wheel and axle. In their haste to get home before sunset, the WordFriends lose the letters to their map.     Dinosaur Train [#210] Hurricane at Pteranodon Terrace/Rafting The Cretaceous The long-awaited rains finally return to Pteranodon Terrace, but grow into a huge rainstorm that grows even bigger - into a hurricane! Dad hasn't seen it blow like this since he was a kid. They seek shelter, and Don discovers an entrance to a cave below their nest, where not only the Pteranodons, but also their other neighbors, the Lambeorsaurus family and Cindy Cimolestes, all take shelter for the night. In the morning, the storm has passed, but everyone must pitch in to rebuild their various nests. The family is cleaning up the mess left over from the hurricane, and discover that a raft of logs has washed up two refugees from across the Western Interior Sea - a turtle named Aidan Adocus, and a small mammal named Tommy Ptilodus. Our family learns of their adventure, crossing the sea in the storm, and washing up at Pteranodon Terrace. And when Tigey goes missing right before bedtime, Daniel learns what a grr-ific babysitter Prince Tuesday is. * Daniel Goes to School - When Daniel joins the rest of his friends at school, he doesn't want his Dad to leave - until Dad Tiger reminds him that "grownups come back." Then, Miss Elaina loses her locket and misses her mom, Lady Elaine. The kids help Miss Elaina find the locket and enjoy the rest of the school day. Luckily, with Henrietta's help they find a way to share the tutu and perform a grr-ific Jungle Dance show!

They get all the supplies they need, and head out, led by Nature Cat. But they soon find out that hiking up a mountain is hard, and poses many problems no matter how prepared you are. Will they make it all the way to the peak?!
    * Bug Eating Plants! - A super excited Squeeks shows her brand-new, homemade comic "Bug Eating Plants of The Swamp!" to her pals. As Squeeks begins to read the story, we see this action packed adventure played out, as tiny Nature Cat, Hal, Daisy and Squeeks must make their way through the swamp while trying to stay away from the Bug Eating Plants, which proves difficult for Tiny Hal!

    "Backyard Moon Base" - Led by Sydney, the kids build a moon base in Jet's backyard and use their imaginations to figure out what challenges they would need to overcome in order to live on the Moon. Curriculum: A moon habitat is a structure on the Moon that would provide the right conditions to allow humans to live on the Moon's surface.

    Dinosaur Train [#210] Hurricane at Pteranodon Terrace/Rafting The Cretaceous The long-awaited rains finally return to Pteranodon Terrace, but grow into a huge rainstorm that grows even bigger - into a hurricane! Dad hasn't seen it blow like this since he was a kid. They seek shelter, and Don discovers an entrance to a cave below their nest, where not only the Pteranodons, but also their other neighbors, the Lambeorsaurus family and Cindy Cimolestes, all take shelter for the night. In the morning, the storm has passed, but everyone must pitch in to rebuild their various nests. The family is cleaning up the mess left over from the hurricane, and discover that a raft of logs has washed up two refugees from across the Western Interior Sea - a turtle named Aidan Adocus, and a small mammal named Tommy Ptilodus. Our family learns of their adventure, crossing the sea in the storm, and washing up at Pteranodon Terrace.     • Fremont Peak Tower Maintenance

      *UPDATE: The tower crew will work the Fremont peak tower as of 11am, Thursday, Nov 30th. We will need to lower power on KQET, Channel 25, to 25% at 10:30am through 4-5pm. Thank you for your patience!

    • Scheduled Maintenance 8/21-8/25

      Next week, Sutro Tower will be switching most stations to their auxiliary antennas. KQED TV will be at half power on the lower auxiliary antenna, this will affect some of our Over The Air viewers. Maintenance is scheduled on August 21-25 from 9am through 4pm daily. Thank you for your patience!

    • 2/22/17: Fremont Peak tower transmissions, including KQET DT25

      (DT25.1 through 25.3) Recent storms have taken out dozens of trees on Fremont Peak, which in turn have taken down power lines leading to the transmission tower located on the peak.
