Tim O'Brien is one of titans of roots-music. Between collaborations with Darrell Scott, the recent Grammy winning recording with Jerry Douglas's Earls of Leicester and the rebooting of Hot Rize; it has been four years since Tim's last solo recording. Still, somewhere in O'Brien's vivid imagination, the seeds of 'Pompadour' began to sprout. The fruits of his recent wanderings, music making and worldly observations have blossomed into eleven exquisitely varied, true to life and above all musical tracks.
Ron Block has long since secured his reputation as a deeply thoughtful and accomplished musician. After two-decades as part of Alison Krauss' band, Union Station, with whom he's earned a collection of GrammyA?, IBMA, and Dove awards, as well as many years as a songwriter and sideman for the likes of Rhonda Vincent, Randy Travis, The Boxcars, The Cox Family, Dailey & Vincent, Dolly Parton, and Vince Gill, Block now presents his new solo album, 'Hogan's House of Music'. WoodSongs Kid: Marteka & William Lake hail from Hacker Valley, West Virginia. This sister and brother duo play bluegrass in the Flatt and Scruggs style.
