Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
This 1950s series stars Ronald Howard as Sherlock Holmes and Howard Marion Crawford as Dr. Watson. This was the first American TV series of Sherlock Holmes adventures. The show was filmed in France.

Watson and Holmes go to Sussex to investigate the gruesome death of Squire John Douglas; the weapon was a Pennsylvania sawed-off shotgun. Mr. Morell and Mrs. Douglas are suspected, but Holmes finds out John Douglas was not murdered.

She doesn't know if she believes him, and Lestrade doesn't either. Holmes takes the threat seriously and is able to thwart an attempt on her life. He also makes a gruesome discovery in a secret hiding place.
