Looking for free things to do in the Bay Area this weekend (perhaps for Mother’s Day)? Read on for some inspiration:

Visit the Ferry Building for Mother’s Day

Flowers at the San Francisco Ferry Building (San Francisco Ferry Building via Facebook)

Wandering the Ferry Building’s sights (and smells) is pleasant enough on a regular day, but this weekend you’ll find special craft stations in its halls for Mother’s Day. Activities for kids include card crafting and flower pot decoration.  The CUESA Ferry Plaza Farmers Market will also be outside the Ferry Building Saturday 8 a.m. — 2 p.m (the same folks who are also bringing a special Mother’s Day farmers market to Oakland’s Jack London Square.)

Saturday, May 11 (9 a.m. — 3 p.m)

Stanford Powwow celebrations (Stanford Powwow via Facebook)

A storied celebration of Native American cultures, the 48th Annual Stanford Powwow and Art Market will offer dance, music and artistry on the Stanford University campus with more than 100 stalls and vendors. In addition to the performances and contests, there will also be a Fun Run/Walk on Saturday at 8 a.m. which, like all the outdoor activities at this event, will take place rain or shine. Overnight camping on-site is also available.

Friday, May 10 through Sunday, May 12 (times vary, consult program)

There’s also free bike parking available.
