KQED Youth Takeover Week is coming April 22-26, 2024!
Students have a lot to say, and KQED wants to share their voices with an audience beyond the classroom. The Youth Takeover program is a unique year-long experience where KQED partners with high school classrooms from nine Bay Area counties to help students produce audio feature stories destined for KQED’s broadcast, podcast and online programming—including shows like Perspectives, Forum, Bay Curious, Rightnowish and other local favorites. Browse the Youth Takeover showcase.

Not in the Bay Area? Check out the Youth Media Challenge, where middle and high school students across the U.S. make their voices heard through original media pieces centered around a topic of their choice. All student media submissions are published on the online showcase, and also reviewed for possible inclusion in highlight videos, special features, and on KQED programming.
