SF Man's Website a Key to 1940 Census Data Goldmine

The 1940 census -- detailed records on the lives of more than 130 million Americans -- is now public. For historians and genealogy buffs, the information is a goldmine. But just like prospecting for gold, it takes some savvy to find family members in that mountain of data.

Host Mina Kim talks with San Francisco computer scientist Steve Morse about the website he built to help people sift through 1940 census data.
