YMC Maurice
KQED.org > Youth Media Corps Spring 2003

My name is Maurice. I am a 19 year old working person. Working is a big part of my life as of right now. I work at Alcatraz, it's a rock that has lots of people that visit and it's a former prison. My job is to hand out the audio players for 45 minutes then another 45 in the return area. I was born in San Francisco, California, where I still live today.

I'm tall, intelligent, very smart and fast in anything I do. I can learn within minutes. Later in life, I want to be an electronic technician. I like to fix things with my hands and I'm kinda quick when I'm fixing or putting them back together. Technology is very important to me like it is to everyone else.

Things that I like to do in my spare time are fix things, listen to music, and play video games. I actually have a lot of video game systems that I might not play but I do work on them when something is wrong.

I don't know why I joined this program. I guess I wanted to learn more bout editing. This program made me understand more what goes on behind the programs on TV and on the Internet. I learned how to use the computer better and how a camera works. After all the new things I have learned, I still think that there is more to learn, and that is why I'm going back to school to learn more bout editing and electronic technology.

Learn more about my hero, Carol Gray.
