Welcome to KQED Youth Media Corps' Local Heroes Campaign. Our group focused on community heroes to honor the humble yet important figures in our lives. To us, a hero is someone who is dedicated, focused, brave, persistent, and eager to take risks in the effort of reaching a goal and helping their community.

For young people, the qualities of heroes can be embedded into our personalities as heroes transcend the borders between friendships and mentors. Hopefully, the heroic qualities that we admire will become a part of us as we continue the legacy of the many notable individuals working everyday to inspire those around them.
