We asked 30 San Francisco high school students about their
opinions on the question above and these are the results:
Linda
"Nothing, I have nothing to worry about. My parents are happy
as long as I do my best."
| Paul
"Grades, oh, and being the best in the class. I like to compete.
I like to be the best. I can't stand to see anyone above me, only
equal to me."
| Ray
"A lot of homework. No time to play. I get
tired and if you don't do your homework, the teachers will punish
you."
| Lisa
"Homework and teachers. Teachers stress me out because they
expect a lot. Homework is annoying and it wastes my time."
| Kristin
"The teachers who are disorganized and can't handle their
own class. Also when I have a lot of homework to do with no time
to do it. I also get stressed when the teachers give you homework
and they don't explain it until after they give you a test on it."
| Judy
" Having to pay for classes, oversized classes, not getting
enough attention, not understanding assignments."
| Patrick
"School, School, School stresses me out. School."
| Lisa H.
"Tests, quizzes, homework. Too much homework. Teachers not
really understanding. Also when you ask them a question and they
don't answer you."
| Kenneth
"Teachers, teachers who don't collaborate with the students.
The racist teachers and students."
| Thomas
"Everything."
| Deming
"Homework because it's hard."
| Felix |
"Homework, lots of homework, I want to do other stuff."
| Mikki |
"Grading, grades in general. Sometimes when your
trying your hardest and you still don't get an A or a B. Then you
feel stupid because you should be able to get an A or a B if you
work hard."
| Jason |
"Tests."
| Anita
"Hey! Work, homework. Because it's too much to do in too little
time."
| Marvin |
"Work, homework, too much."
| Pauline |
"I like school better than home because at home you have to
do homework but at school you don't have as much work to do. At
school there is someone you can depend on but at home you're independent
in your studies with no one to help you. Oh yea, also 300 point
exams without help."
| Kelsey |
"Grades because everything depends on it, especially your
future."
| Jamie |
"You. Just kidding. Homework, tests, and teachers. Because
on one night you have no homework and the next day you have stacks
of homework."
| Patrick
"Studying for tests. Reading and girls."
| Tommy
"Teachers who give you too much work and don't explain."
| Jamie |
"When you spend a lot of time on an assignment and
teachers don't even read it and they just want to stamp it with
out looking at it."
| Michael
"I don't know. Homework. Sure. Because
they're telling you to do something."
| Ben
"Having a lot of homework. Large important tests. No no no
no. Important tests that are important for the output only."
| Michael |
"Tests, homework, that's it."
| Melissa
"Lots of homework can really get stressful but budgeting your
time between school work and social life can get really hard."
| Cassie |
"Homework, projects on top of projects on top of projects
on top of projects. If each teacher gives you a project then you'll
have 7 projects on top of each other."
| Lorna
"Class, college, homework, personal things like
social life or family."
| Jennifer
"Friends, people, going to class, teachers...basically
if I didn't go to school I wouldn't have problems."
| Benny |
"Homework, I don't know. Do you have to write everything I
say?"
