Here are some tips on how you might be able to deal with school
stress:
(It is proven that just 10 minutes of the following could be beneficial
to both your physical and mental health)
- Take a Deep Breath and RELAX!
- ADDRESS what you think is stressing you out. When stress occurs it
is important to recognize it and deal with it.
- If you don't think you can handle that, then try taking a BREAK. Clear
your mind from the problem and do somthing to forget about your problem
until you are calm enough to deal with it. Do something you enjoy.
- ORGANIZE your agenda and all your thoughts. Try writing them down
or visualizing them in your mind.
- SHARE your stress. Talk to someone about your concerns or worries.
This could be a friend, family member, or anyone you might trust.
- Take care of your HEALTH. Remember your body and your mind work together.
Get some FRESH AIR. Try to EAT right, including healthy foods in your
diet.
- Try EXERCISING. When under stress, the body is constantly sustaining
a readiness to run or fight by keeping muscles tight and digestive systems
on low. Exercise uses the tension in the muscles and releases seratonin
which can help you relieve your stress.
- Know your LIMITS. If a problem is beyond your control and cannot be
changed at the moment - learn to accept what it is for now - until such
time when you can change it. Most IMPORTANTLY, learn how and when to
say "NO."
