Building Trust
- Gary
Trust, what does it mean to me... well, being honest, keeping promises,
belief in others, and good relationship with them. Trust helps build
a better relationship with others; you are more open when you have
trust. Here is an example of how trust exists in good relationships.
Do you have best friends or friends, and are all of you really good
friends? Well, of course friends can tell each other secrets and not
be afraid about·maybe not all secrets. Also, they are very open to
each other in conversations because they trust each other. Friends
believe in each other because they trust each other and when they
break the promises of one another, their friendship weakens. This
is trust: being honest, not breaking promises, keeping each other's
secrets, and believing in each other.
- Grace "What's Beneath"
Outsiders can never understand what's going on inside my family.
From an outsiders' point of view they can usually see that we are a
happy family. But what's inside my family is like most Asian families.
We have a lot of conflicts going on that I don't think we'll ever be
able to solve. Even though we solve one, another problem will start.
There's no end to the problems. I believe that's what's going on between
other families, too.I think the biggest problem that goes on inside
my family is Trust. Once I step into my home, I feel unsafe, because
my parents don't trust me and I don't trust them. It seems like whatever
I tell them, they don't want to listen to the end. They are always asking
me the same questions over and over again. That causes me to start to
feel like I'm not trusted by them. I don't have any independence since
they don't trust me. In addition, I don't trust their stories that they
tell me over and over again to teach me lessons. Then slowly we hardly
communicate with each other because we never want to listen to each
other. But we still want to know each other's point of views or thoughts
so we're like always guessing each other's thoughts and never have the
answers. I feel unsafe once I step into my home because I feel like
I'm living with someone that I don't know. I know I need to do something
about it, but in order to fix these problems, I need the cooperation
from my parents. I know they won't listen to me because in their minds,
they always think what they are doing and telling me is always right,
and I'm always a baby to them. But I do really hope that one day they
can trust or listen to how I feel, and they'll tell me how they feel,
too. And I hope others who have the same problems will soon be solving
their problems.
- Janny
Trust is when two people or a group of people believe in each
other. They are usually comfortable sharing ideas, and they are open-minded
with each other.I feel that being trusted is a good feeling. It means
that you are a good friend of someone. If you are not trusted, or someone
has lost trust in you, it feels very bad because it's really hard to
be trusted again. People might also think you are a liar. If you do
want people to trust you again, you will have to earn it back from them.
When there is someone I can trust, I feel very close to him or her.
They are the people I can tell my secrets to, and be very open-minded
with and wild with. They're usually my best friends. I don't like people
that I do not trust.
- Jason
Trust isn't really that hard to gain in the beginning for
families. Your parents trust you before you're even born. But the thing
about family is that trust can be broken just as easily, like with friends,
but can be rebuilt quickly because of the fact that you are family.
With friends, after trust has been broken, you'll just avoid them. But
you can't do that to your family. You live with them. You see them everyday.
You've also known them all your life.
- Lisa
What does trust mean to me? Well, trust is when you feel a
connection between someone close to you. You know you can trust that
person when you and that person can't be apart for a second. You'll
talk to them day and night. You would share secrets that you wouldn't
tell anyone else. You would share that special moment together, and
you would know that you could count on them no matter what. Trust is
there when there is honest communication.I can trust someone when I've
known him or her for years or a couple of weeks. It doesn't have to
take years to trust someone. Trust doesn't have to be only family, trust
can be develop with anyone. Trust is formed when I'm a friend with someone
and we have open-minded communication with each other. You know trust
when you're so close that you can't get away from each other. You'll
know it when you have a close relationship with each other.
- Jennifer
What does trust mean? Is trust important for everyone? Trust
doesn't have to be only in your family; trust can even develop with
someone you know. However, my parents don't trust me. When I try to
tell them something, they don't listen to me. They don't even care if
I am right or wrong. They just assume I'm wrong. I feel so unsafe when
I step into my home because I feel like no one trusts me in this house.
I hope my parent can trust me one day.
