Irish
engineer Jasper O'Farrell, who designed Market Street
in 1847, would surely be proud of the excitement
and commerce generated around this grand boulevard
today. He surveyed the 120-foot-wide roadway diagonally
to the existing street to the north, following the
old Mission Trail that ran from Yerba Buena Cove
to Mission Dolores.
