This Web site, created by a person who has a brother with schizophrenia, has discussion boards on various mental illness-related topics for people who have schizophrenia and their family members. It also has an archive of news releases on new studies and research on schizophrenia.

Pendulum Resources: Your Gateway to Affective Disorders on the Web
This Web site offers information about bipolar and related disorders, including background on commonly prescribed medications, articles and suggested books.

National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
This Web site answers basic questions about the signs and symptoms of post-traumatic stress order (PTSD) -- who gets it, how common it is and what treatments are available. There are also various videos streamed on the site, covering issues from children and trauma to PTSD and war.

Anxiety Disorders Association of America
This resource for people who have anxiety disorders, their family members and mental health professionals provides an overview of various anxiety disorders, from panic disorder to social phobia. The Web site also includes an archive of the organization's bimonthly newsletter, including "In My Own Words," a regular feature that offers firsthand accounts of what it's like to live and cope with an anxiety disorder. The site also offers a listing of anxiety disorder self-help support groups by state.
