The California Report: Health Dialogues
DEATH AND DYING
Our population is growing older, and an increasing number of Californians are dealing with the death of parents and relatives. Others are coming to terms with their own mortality. Patients have a different view of dying from the medical profession. Different cultures have their own ways of dealing with dying. In light of these differences, Health Dialogues looks at the thorny question of whether everyone in this society can have the opportunity to die with dignity. Medical advances are allowing us to live longer than ever before. But is a longer life a better life?
