Health (NIH), over 68,000 women participated in a controlled
trial. At random, researchers assigned women to any or all of
hormone replacement therapy (HRT), a low-fat diet, or calcium
with Vitamin D. In July 2002, the NIH stopped part of the HRT
trial because of a small but measurable increased risk of heart
attacks, strokes, blood clots, and breast cancer. Health Dialogues
