"The women's movement has created the potential for freeing both women and men from gender straitjackets -- myths and preconceptions that encase us in very narrow definitions of what it means to be a male or a female in our society. A wonderful consequence of this gender revolution is the creation of new ways to bring up our children into a generation that is free from gender stereotypes and able to find personal fulfillment. This is equally important for boys and girls, fathers and mothers -- and those significant others who take on those essential nurturing roles. Parenting born of a women's movement can foster healthy and happy young men and women, free from the inhibiting shackles of gender stereotypes, which ultimately limit all of our human potential."
