On November 8th, KQED's Bay Window goes on location in San Francisco with the program Speaking Freely: An Evening with Remarkable Women. In the intimate setting of a local coffeehouse, a group of accomplished Bay Area writers, performers and community activists discuss their passions, their inspirations and the challenges they've faced along their chosen paths. With no host and small groups of women engaging in an intimate discussion, Speaking Freely's unique format provides an opportunity for viewers to listen in on a lively exchange of ideas among women whose groundbreaking choices have encouraged others to trust their visions and realize broader dreams.

This one-hour special follows the broadcast of Not for Ourselves Alone: The Story of Elizabeth Cady Stanton & Susan B. Anthony, a Ken Burns documentary about the birth of the women's movement and the enduring friendship between Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony.
