involuntary treatment
There is a national debate over new laws that expand the use of involuntary treatment for people with severe mental illness. Consider the history of involuntary treatment, civil rights concerns, and the helplessness of many family members of a mentally ill person who is not receiving care. Then test your beliefs with an interactive "devil's advocate" and weigh-in on the debate.

personal stories
One out of five people experience mental illness, and the effects of it touch all of us, from family members to co-workers to neighbors. Meet survivors, their loved ones, and mental health professionals and join the discussion about the challenges of mental illness.

mental health roadmap
This Roadmap to California mental health will help you find services and supports for yourself or someone else. Information in the Roadmap is hands-on, and it will answer your questions about how to get help whether you have private insurance or use your county's mental health system. The Roadmap draws from nationally respected mental health organizations to bring you a step-by-step guide to services for children, adolescents, adults and older adults and information on what to do in a mental health crisis, and how to nurture mental health recovery.
