The St. Bernards are the gang's slimy buddies. More slimy buddies arrive in the form of a giant bullfrog, a Pacman frog, and a Budgetts frog. Frogs need slime to keep them from drying out. Salamanders do, too. Earthworms have slime that helps them slide through tunnels in the ground. Slime is great! Chris, Martin and Zoboo build a slime shower, so they can be slimy, too. Jackie and the Animal Helpers are raking up dead leaves and putting them into the pond to make MudPuppy Pond an even slimier home for mudpuppy salamanders. James says that Sodor Rescue Engines are Steam Engines, not Steam Trams like Toby! They chuff off to rescue Gordon whose wheels have come off the track. James wants to help by pulling him forward, but Toby thinks they should get Rocky since Gordon is too heavy. James doesn't listen and tries to pull Gordon, and his driving wheels now come off the track. When James tries to push Gordon, the Fenland track cracks and Gordon falls! James then asks Toby to get Rocky for help. James says that Toby is the best Rescue Tram on the whole of Island of Sodor. Harry Hiro - Thomas tries to cheer Hiro up when he sees that he is sad because he misses his home. Thomas is sure that he can make Hiro smile and asks Charlie to tell him a joke, but Hiro doesn't laugh. Thomas brings Hiro to Misty Island and he enjoys the sounds of the birds. Thomas doesn't pay attention and takes him to race through the hollow tree tunnel. When Hiro wants to look at the sea, Thomas takes him on a tour of the hills of Sodor. Thomas realizes he needs to listen to Hiro and what he wants. They listen to the birds at the hollow tree tunnel and visit the Jobi Woods. The places they visit remind Hiro of home. Telly runs to tell Baby Bear, but when he finds him, he is getting ready to hibernate until springtime when there is porridge again. What is Telly supposed to do for five months without a best friend? Telly and Baby bear set up a play date for the spring when Baby Bear wakes up. Telly says goodbye and the bears try to go to sleep, but they are not tired! First, they try counting, but that does not work. Then they call Max Bear, a hibernation consultant. Max Bear arrives and tells the bears that their cottage is too warm. They must go outside where it is cold. The bears look for an empty cave or hollow tree and sing all about bears. Finally, they find a flower bed that they can dig a hole and sleep in called a den. Telly and Chris see the bears digging and go outside to check on them. Max Bear says that they should eat something before they hibernate. Chris suggests cereal and goes to Hooper's Store. When Chris comes back, they try the cereal and like it! In fact, the cereal is so good that they decide to eat it all winter long and not hibernate! Hooray! When Henry tries to steam through Sodor using the normal coal, he breaks down. Henry realizes that he has been a silly engine. Sir Topham Hatt tells Henry that it is the special coal that makes Henry such a special engine. When 'Arry and Bert tease Henry again, he tells them that he is proud of being a special engine with special coal. Henry even helps 'Arry and Bert when they run out of diesel! Edward the Hero - Edward is given the special job of being the Rescue Engine at the Sodor Search and Rescue Center. Edward wants to be a hero if he is to help Harold at the Center. Edward thinks that heroes are strong, fast and stern so decides he must be strong, fast and stern too. He helps Charlie by being funny, helps Dowager Hatt by being kind, and helps Farmer McColl's dog by being gentle. Edward doesn't think he's a hero though because he hasn't shown he is fast, strong and stern. As Edward chuffs along the tracks he sees people cheering and waving to him and calling him a hero. Scrambler tries to build his tree house but it's much harder than he thought. The Timber Trail is almost finished but there are some things missing! Scrambler sees how upset Roley is and it's his fault! Scrambler tells Roley the truth and suggests that they could make it into a living area for the children! What a great idea! Start from Scratch - Before the team heads off to fix the old stand at the soccer field, Scoop shows Scratch how to kick a soccer ball. Bob is impressed with Scoop's skills and Scratch wants to impress Bob too! Bob puts the job stages into the right order and they get to work. Scratch finishes his part of the job early so he can practice with the soccer ball. Soon the job grinds to a halt. The soccer ball smashes into the construction, and Bob will be back any moment. Scratch sadly admits that he had prioritized his soccer ball practice over the job. But it's not very comfortable. The Cat's friend Gordon the Gorilla knows how to make a comfortable bed. Off to the Twisty-Misty Mountains to meet him! They discover that gorillas build nests to sleep in, with the dads sleeping on the ground and the moms and kids sleeping in a tree! Now Nick and Sally know how to make their own comfy cozy "nests" at home!
    * Tale of a Dragon - Dragons don't really exist, but Cat knows some lizard friends who are oh-so like dragons! They can show Nick and Sally how to pretend to be dragons. The first one they meet is Ignacio the green iguana who shows them his spikes and dewlap. Then it's off to meet Draco the flying lizard who has wings! Kimora the komodo dragon is the last stop, she shows the kids her long wiggly tongue. Now, with some help from things around the house, Nick and Sally know just what they need to be dragons!
