The cafe won't serve him, and patients are canceling appointments and Elaine leaves town and will miss her father's wedding. Martin confides in a patient, telling him about the phobia that prevented him from continuing his surgical career. In the morning, the bridge is re-opened and Caitlin is the most tired of all. Luke's New Friend - One day, Luke finds a nervous and scared young deer at the Blue Mountain Quarry. The other engines warn Luke that the quarry is no place for an animal, but Luke remembers when he first arrived and how he was nervous and scared. He wants to help the young deer so he tries to get the other engines to work quietly.     * Captain Birdwell's Treasure - Clifford and his dog friends find the long-lost trunk of Captain Birdwell, filled with wonderful items brought to the Island by the explorer long ago. But through a misunderstanding, Jetta is given credit for the discovery. She knows that telling the truth is the right thing to do, but she can't resist the promise of a gold medal award. It doesn't take long for her to realize, however, that awards don't give much pleasure when they're not deserved.

Everyone but Duck, that is, who doesn't know that the letters s and h together make the 'sh' sound, and therefore doesn't know who Shark is. When Duck introduces his new friend "Sh-ark" to the gang, Duck learns a lesson about the /sh/ sound, while everyone else discovers that acceptance is an important part of friendship.

Can George and Hundley figure out a way to get Charkie to cross the finish line amid all the distractions?

They head to Muddyfeet Waterhole where they learn about how different animals make different types of footprints. Back home, they follow the prints and discover their strawberry was taken by a squirrel! Luckily, the Cat has some more!

When they return from eating a healthy power snack, their ball is missing! It's a real mystery and they need to investigate to solve the problem! First, Telly writes down what they already know about the mystery! Then, he forms a hypothesis, or a guess, that Abby must have made the basketball disappear because she's able to do magic. Abby tells them that she was with the seven dwarves so it couldn't have been her. Telly and Elmo investigate further and Elmo suggests that they look under the table. The basketball isn't there and now Telly's notebook and crayon have vanished making the mystery even more mysterious! Elmo discovers a new clue and after thinking about where he's heard this "whoosh" sound before, he forms a new hypothesis- the Big Bad Wolf did it! The Big Bad Wolf explains that it wasn't him either. Now they hear the "whoosh" again and Telly's hat is missing! This time they also feel a tickle but don't see anything. Leela comes by and helps them piece all the clues together. What can be all around that you can sometimes hear and feel, but can't see? Wind! Elmo and Telly experiment and test out their new hypothesis and see if the wind made their things disappear. They follow a leaf flying in the wind and find all of their missing things. Thomas and Duck have to learn to work together. The Switch - When Luke is sent to Ulfstead Castle to deliver stone he meets Millie, the Earl's private narrow gauge engine. The two engines compare jobs, boasting how much they like their own work, and so the Earl agrees to let them switch jobs for the day. The other machines think that Spud and Scratch should wait and follow Bob's plans. But Scratch is determined to help Spud. Surely Bob will be pleased when he sees how much they've done! But Spud's building skills are less than expert - the entire room ends up falling down in a messy pile! Working as a team, Scratch and the others rebuild the room. Bob, Wendy and Farmer Pickles are pleased at what they have achieved. But Spud is the most pleased with his dream! Stage Struck Dizzy - Spud is playing a giant in a play at Fixham Theatre, and is stomping around the yard, shouting his line. The team is also working at the theatre - building a storage shed. Dickie Olivier tells them that they can use old sets, just not the ones needed for the play. As the team chooses the walls for the storage shed, Dizzy helps Spud practice his lines. Exhausted from his rehearsing, Spud falls asleep inside the shed. Dizzy ends up diverted onto stage, and Lofty and Bob finish off the shed, not realizing Spud is inside! When Dickie Olivier discovers his actor and sets are missing - he'll have to cancel the play! Dizzy leads Bob to Spud and the missing sets are revealed too.     * The Tree Doctor: Sally's little maple sapling hasn't grown any bigger! To discover why, The Cat in the Hat takes the kids to meet Dr. Twiggles. With the help of the doctor and his songs, Nick and Sally discover how trees "eat" - through their leaves and roots. They also learn that trees grow verrrry slowly. A few more years and their maple sapling will grow into a maple tree!

    • KQED FM 88.1 translator off air Tues 6/03

      The Martinez translator for KQED-FM will be off the air all day Tuesday June 3rd. We are rebuilding the 25 year old site with all new antennas and cabling. This should only affect people listening on 88.1MHz in the Martinez/Benicia area.

    • KQET planned overnight outage: early Tues 5/13

      (DT25.1, 25.2, 25.3) KQET’s Over The Air (OTA) signal will shut down late May 12/early Tues 5/13 shortly after midnight to allow for extensive electrical maintenance work at the transmitter.
